The Link // Gen Console

Comprehensive guide to the Colonial data-brokerage network. Learn how to scan, filter, and secure high-yield opportunities across the StarLane network.

Operational Overview

The Link is a high-fidelity brokerage interface designed for colonial operators. It scans reachable StarSystems for trade, freight, passenger, mail and contract opportunities. Unlike static bulletin boards, The Link uses **Recursive Determinism** to ensure that scanned data remains stable for the duration of your session — same seed, same opportunities, until a fresh scan is authorized.

Initialization

Phase: PRE-SCAN CONFIGURATION

Before scanning, calibrate the console to your current location. Access the **Link Dashboard** and initiate a new session:

» Select Campaign: Assets and finances are scoped per campaign.
» Set Origin: Provide your current StarSystem.
» Range: Define the maximum Stutterwarp jump distance (light-years) the scan should cover.

Active Scanning

Phase: DATA ACQUISITION

Once the session is active, enter the **Gen Console**. Generate a fresh batch to query the local data network.

Opportunity Batch

The scan retrieves candidates across Trade, Freight, Passenger, Mail and Contract categories.

Deterministic Lock

Results stay the same if you navigate away and come back. Master Only: re-generating a batch is a restricted command.

Evaluation

Phase: RISK ASSESSMENT

Evaluate the cards based on your asset's capabilities. Each opportunity displays:

Payout: Base reward or trade value, in Lv.

Destination: Target StarSystem and distance in light-years.

Difficulty: Routine, Hazardous, or Black Ops — the latter only when the campaign's hel-Link access is enabled.

Processing

Phase: LEGAL BINDING

When you find a viable opportunity, follow the formal acceptance protocol:

Save Opportunity
Click a card to bookmark it. This prevents the opportunity from expiring when a new batch is generated.
II.
Review Manifest
Access the saved opportunity to see the full narrative briefing, including patron details and complications.
III.
Final Acceptance
Select your Asset and local law jurisdiction to confirm the contract.
IV.
Cargo Persistence
Successful acceptance generates ledger records and reserves space. Freight & Mail are automatically tracked by weight.

"Accepting a contract is a legally binding action. The system will automatically deduct costs for Trade acquisitions and lock revenue schedules for Freight. Ensure your Asset has sufficient Cargo Capacity before engaging."
